Publisher Pro Help Guide

1. Welcome to Publisher Pro

Publisher Pro connects to your Gumroad creator account and uses your existing Product and Profile information as the starting point for custom pages. It does not replace Gumroad. It gives you a visual workspace for creating, previewing, saving, publishing, restoring, and downloading pages.

You remain in control of your Gumroad account, Products, prices, files, checkout, and fulfillment.

2. Before You Start

Have these ready:

• A Gumroad creator account.
• At least one Gumroad Product if you want to build Product pages.
• A Gumroad access token.
• Images or videos uploaded through Gumroad Products if you want to use media.
• A Publisher Pro license for Save, import, standalone HTML, Publish, and Restore features.

You can look around before buying.

Explore Mode is simply free access to learn Publisher Pro and decide whether you want to purchase it. There is no separate mode to select.

3. Create Your Gumroad Access Token

Publisher Pro needs a token to confirm which creator account you are connecting, load your Products and Profile information, access available Gumroad assets, preview custom pages through Gumroad, and perform publishing or restoration actions that you explicitly request.

Step 1: Sign in to Gumroad.

Use the creator account you want Publisher Pro to access.

Step 2: Open Gumroad Advanced Settings.

Find the area for creating or registering an API application.

Step 3: Create an application for your own use.

Add an application name and icon. Gumroad’s current guide says a creator using the API only for their own account can use http://127.0.0.1 as the redirect URI.

Step 4: Generate the access token.

Use Gumroad’s Generate access token control and copy the token.

Step 5: Return to Publisher Pro.

Paste the token into the Gumroad Access Token field and select Connect and Load Data .

Gumroad can change its settings screens, so use Gumroad’s official API application guide as the current source of truth. If you lose access to the token, return to the application area in Gumroad and use the token controls available there.

Keep the token private.

Treat your Gumroad access token like a password. Never share it publicly or place it inside page content.

Publisher Pro intentionally does not permanently store your token. It is held for the current browser session. After closing or reloading Publisher Pro, reconnect by entering it again.

4. Connecting Publisher Pro

Sequence: Open Publisher Pro → Enter token → Connect and Load Data → Identity verified → Products and Profile load → Page Library opens

If Gumroad rejects the token, Publisher Pro shows a specific connection error and does not treat the session as connected. Confirm that you copied the complete token and that it belongs to the intended creator account.

Reconnect is the same basic process used after a reload or when updating Gumroad assets without a token in memory. Your licensed Project can still exist in GetSkipa workspace storage even though the token itself is not retained.

5. Explore Mode Is Free Access

Explore Mode is nothing more than free access to 'explore' around the app. Even If you connect with the Gumroad access token, and without an active Publisher Pro license, you can immediately explore the editor, work with your profile page and product pages. 

You can

• See all of your current Gumroad image and video assets.
• See all of your current products.
• Build Product and Profile pages.
• Edit sections, layouts, themes, and media selections.
• Preview Desktop, Tablet, and Mobile.
• Test layout choices, design options

A license is required to

• Save the your project to the cloud. 
• Save social links
• Download standalone HTML.
• Save website links.
• Publish your custom pages to Gumroad.
• Restore to default Gumroad pages.

6. Activate Publisher Pro

Select Activate License in the Page Library or editor, then enter the license key from your Publisher Pro Gumroad purchase.

One purchased license is tied to one verified Gumroad creator identity and cannot be transferred to another creator. The same licensed creator can use Publisher Pro on multiple devices or browsers without an artificial device limit.

After activation, ordinary reconnecting requires your Gumroad access token—not repurchasing or re-entering the Publisher Pro license every time. Updates to Publisher Pro are included with your license at no additional charge.

7. Understanding the Page Library

The Page Library is your starting point after connection. It lists your creator Profile and discovered Gumroad Products. Select a page to edit it.

• Profile: your custom Gumroad creator storefront page.
• Products: one editable page for each discovered Gumroad Product.
• Shared Links: reusable links available to supported Profile and Product sections. A great place for social media links and external links to your products supporting documentation
• Save state: indicates whether the complete Project has unsaved page changes.

Gumroad remains the source for Product identity, pricing, public links, and discovered assets. Publisher Pro stores your presentation and editor choices separately.

8. Creating a Custom Product Page

Sequence: Choose Existing Product → Review source information → Build sections → Style → Add assets → Preview → Save → Publish or Download

Use only the sections that help a buyer understand the Product:

• Product Hero: the main promise, Product identity, media, price, and purchase action.
• Summary and Description: explain what the Product is and why it matters.
• Features: make important capabilities or outcomes scannable.
• Images, Video, and Carousel: demonstrate the Product.
• FAQ: answer common questions and objections.
• Requirements and Compatibility: explain what the buyer needs.
• Notices and Callouts: highlight important context.
• Additional Details: display supported details supplied by Gumroad.
• Reviews and Ratings: show supported Gumroad information when available.
• Purchase Information and CTA: reinforce the next step.
• Related Products: offer a small, relevant cross-sell.
• Creator, Support, and Footer: establish ownership and provide useful links.

9. Creating a Custom Gumroad Profile

Profile pages use your creator/Profile information and Product catalog. Build a clear storefront using your bio, featured Products, Product presentation, introduction media, social or Shared Links, features, FAQ, notices, CTA, and footer.

1. Open the Profile page from the Page Library.
2. Review imported creator information.
3. Select the Products and presentation you want.
4. Add supporting content and links.
5. Preview all device sizes.
6. Save the complete Project.
7. Publish the Profile when ready.

Publishing replaces current Profile custom HTML.

Publisher Pro captures the current Gumroad Profile HTML before publishing so Restore Previous may be available. Always review the live result.

10. Using Images and Video

Publisher Pro uses assets already available through your Gumroad Products. It is not a general-purpose media hosting service.

Upload the image or video to the relevant Gumroad Product, then select Update Gumroad Assets in Publisher Pro. You can also maintain an unpublished Gumroad Product specifically for reusable media.

Tip: Create a Gumroad Media Library Product

Create an unpublished Gumroad Product and use it only as an asset repository. Upload reusable images and videos there, refresh Publisher Pro, and select those Gumroad-hosted assets in the editor. This allows sharing of images and videos where appropriate, a simple place for everything. 

Gumroad sandbox only allows images and video links from a gumroad account for custom pages. Each asset has a public URL that Publisher Pro uses to create your custom pages.  Do not delete or move an asset in Gumroad while a published or standalone page depends on its URL. Publisher Pro stores the public URL and metadata; it does not copy that media into GetSkipa storage.

11. Working With Layouts, Themes, and Typography

• Layout controls where sections and columns live.
• Rows and slots control the page structure.
• Theme controls the overall visual language.
• Typography controls heading and body presentation.
• Alignment controls how content sits within its section.
• Reordering changes the page story from top to bottom.

Keep the page focused.

Lead with the value and purchase action, use a consistent hierarchy, keep copy concise, maintain readable contrast, and preview mobile before publishing. You do not need every available section.

12. Previewing Your Page

Use Desktop, Tablet, and Mobile to check responsive behavior.

• Editor preview: a safe, script-restricted preview inside Publisher Pro.
• Gumroad compatibility preview: sends supported candidate HTML through Gumroad’s preview/sanitization behavior without publishing.
• Published Gumroad page: the final page processed and hosted by Gumroad.

Gumroad can sanitize, transform, or reject custom HTML. The live Gumroad result is ultimately controlled by Gumroad, so check it after publishing.

13. Saving Your Project

Publisher Pro saves your complete workspace rather than only the page currently open. The Project includes Profile and Product pages, Shared Links, page structure, appearance, and related workspace state.

Licensed work can have a browser-local draft and a canonical saved cloud Project. Selecting Save sends the complete current Project to GetSkipa workspace storage. Publishing also saves before it changes the selected Gumroad page.

If Publisher Pro reports that the saved revision has changed, another saved version is newer. Preserve your current work, reload the latest saved Project, and reconcile the changes rather than repeatedly forcing Save.

14. Publishing to Gumroad

Product page

Sequence: Preview → Confirm → Save Project → Verify exact Product → Update Product custom HTML

Profile page

Sequence: Preview → Confirm → Save Project → Capture current Profile HTML → Publish new HTML → Verify result

Publisher Pro changes custom page HTML. It does not change Product prices, downloadable files, checkout configuration, fulfillment, payout settings, or banking information. That information is controlled by Gumroad,

Review before publishing.

Confirm the exact page, Product, links, media, price display, mobile layout, and purchase action. After publishing, open the live Gumroad page and test it as a visitor would.

15. Restore and Recovery

Restore Gumroad Default

This removes supported custom HTML from the selected Product or Profile so Gumroad’s default presentation can resume. It does not change Product price, files, or checkout.

Restore Previous Profile

When a previous Profile snapshot is available, this restores the captured previous Profile custom HTML. Publisher Pro verifies your current license before changing Gumroad.

Revision conflict

Stop and reload the latest saved Project. A conflict prevents an older browser state from silently replacing newer saved work.

Failed or uncertain publish

Open the live Gumroad page and verify the actual result before retrying. A network interruption can make the browser uncertain even when a remote request reached Gumroad.

16. Download Standalone HTML

Download HTML is a licensed feature. It creates a complete standalone page file that you can host elsewhere. Publisher Pro does not host the file for you.

The file can contain responsive styling, page interaction scripts, metadata, public Gumroad purchase links, and public media URLs. It may depend on Gumroad-hosted assets, external fonts, or creator-selected media. It does not include your Gumroad access token or raw Publisher Pro license key.

Optional: finish the file with Last Mile

Last Mile is a separate GetSkipa downloadable utility. Open the downloaded HTML there if you want to further prepare or finish the document for another use.

17. Tips for Better Gumroad Pages

• Lead with the problem solved or outcome delivered.
• Use one strong Hero instead of competing introductions.
• Keep descriptions scannable.
• Show useful Product images and follow gumroads image size guidlines for best results
• Use video when it adds information, not decoration.
• Use FAQs for real questions.
• Avoid duplicated sections.
• Use Related Products sparingly.
• Preview mobile.
• Review every link.
• Keep external dependencies intentional.
• Save before major publishing changes.
• When troubleshooting, make one change and verify it before making another.

18. Security and Privacy—in Plain English

• Your Gumroad access token is used during the current session and is not permanently stored by Publisher Pro.
• Your raw Publisher Pro license key is not stored. Publisher Pro stores a protected fingerprint and license status information.
• Active Publisher Pro functionality does not request buyer identities, buyer emails, payment-card data, payout data, or banking data.
• Licensed saved workspaces are stored by GetSkipa.
• Licensed local drafts and Profile rollback snapshots may exist in your browser.
• Gumroad is a separate third-party service.

19. Workspace Retention

A successful saved workspace revision or update shows active use. A workspace with 365 consecutive days without a successful saved update may be permanently deleted from GetSkipa’s systems.

A revoked workspace may be retained for up to 365 days to resolve refund, dispute, support, reinstatement, or other license issues. Current deletion is operational rather than an automatic scheduled purge.

Workspace deletion does not erase standalone HTML or other files on your device, uncontrolled browser-local data, or custom HTML already published to Gumroad. Send data or deletion requests to admin@getskipa.com.

20. Troubleshooting

Gumroad will not connect or the token is rejected

Copy the complete token again from Gumroad Advanced Settings. Confirm it belongs to the intended creator account. If needed, use Gumroad’s application controls to find or generate a usable token.

Products do not appear

Select Update Gumroad Assets. Confirm the Products exist in the connected creator account and that Gumroad returned them to the API.

Images or video do not appear

Confirm the asset is uploaded and processed in Gumroad, refresh assets, and reselect it. Do not use local file paths. Check that the Gumroad-hosted URL still works.

The license is not recognized

Confirm you connected the Gumroad creator identity bound to the license and copied the Publisher Pro license key—not the Gumroad access token. Contact support if the purchase was refunded, disputed, or bound incorrectly.

Save fails

Check the connection and token, then reconnect. If Publisher Pro says the license is missing or revoked, licensed actions remain unavailable until entitlement is resolved.

Revision conflict

A newer Project revision already exists. Reload the saved Project and reconcile your work rather than repeatedly retrying the same Save.

Preview differs from Gumroad

Gumroad can sanitize and transform custom HTML. Use Gumroad preview where available, then inspect the live page after publishing.

Publish fails

Read the specific error, confirm the exact Product/Profile and token, and verify Gumroad service availability. The complete Project may have saved even if Gumroad publishing failed.

The published page looks different

Gumroad may have transformed the HTML, or an external asset/font may be unavailable. Compare the live page with the Gumroad compatibility result and check external URLs.

Restore fails

Confirm your token and active license, then verify the live Gumroad page before retrying. Restore Previous also requires an available Profile rollback snapshot.

Standalone HTML media is missing

The file uses public external URLs. Confirm the asset still exists at Gumroad or the selected host and that the external host permits access.

Gumroad API or service is unavailable

Publisher Pro cannot repair Gumroad. Preserve your work, wait, check Gumroad status or documentation, and retry after service returns.

21. Refunds, License, and Support

• Price: $29 one-time purchase.
• License: one verified Gumroad creator identity; non-transferable.
• Devices: no artificial device or browser limit for that creator.
• Updates: included at no additional charge.
• Refunds: no-questions-asked within 14 calendar days; no refunds afterward except where required by law.

22. Gumroad and Third-Party Services

Publisher Pro relies on Gumroad, but GetSkipa does not operate Gumroad. Gumroad controls its APIs, production and testing environments, authentication, token issuance, custom HTML support, previews, sanitization, hosted assets, account restrictions, outages, rate limits, platform policies, and feature changes.

Publisher Pro also relies on Cloudflare infrastructure. Pages may load Google Fonts, Gumroad-hosted media, and external links or media that you select. Third-party changes can affect how a page loads or whether a connected feature remains available.

1. Get a Gumroad access token.
2. Open Publisher Pro.
3. Paste the token and select Connect and Load Data.
4. Select your Profile or a Product.
5. Build the page.
6. Add Gumroad-hosted assets.
7. Preview Desktop, Tablet, and Mobile.
8. Activate Publisher Pro if needed.
9. Save the complete Project.
10. Publish to Gumroad or Download HTML.
